Little Miami River Clean-up

Little Miami River Cleanup Update

Sugarcreek Township River Keepers organized a community river clean-up this past weekend on Saturday, 6/26/10.  Approximately 55 volunteers and committee members of all ages participated during the successful event.  The large group canoed down three sections of the Little Miami River, picking up 800 to 1000 pounds (an estimated amount) of trash.  A full-size washing machine was one of the strangest objects found along the river.  The Community Center hosted a potluck lunch that followed the cleanup.

Sugarcreek Township River Keepers would like to extend a special thank you to all of the volunteers and organizers, as well as the sponsors:

Bellbrook-Sugarcreek Parks, City Barbeque, Dots Market, Friends of the BSPD, Greene County Parks, River's Edge Canoe Rental, Rivers Unlimited, and Sugarcreek Township.
