On Sunday, February 9, 2020 at 4:00 pm, The West Ohio Conference will present, “Crossing the Color Line: 400 Years of Race in America,” an afternoon of worship, learning, and discussion about the history of racism in the U.S. The event will include a screening of the documentary, “Underground,” which takes viewers on a journey through Black history in America, including the eras of slavery, segregation, and separation. Directed by West Ohio pastor, Rev. Ryan Grace, and produced by Missionary Mariellyn Grace, “Underground”  both acknowledges the racism that has separated Black and White people for hundreds of years, and celebrates the ways in which Black and White people have worked together to overcome racial division. Following the screening, Bishop Gregory V. Palmer will preach, and the afternoon will end with dinner and discussion.

The event, which is free and open to the public, will be held at Oakwood United Methodist Church, 206 Hadley Ave, Oakwood (Dayton), OH.
